who we are
Strada is a Melbourne design studio. We design for the outdoors — spaces, furniture, landscapes. The stuff that makes a place work. The best outdoor spaces make you want to stay. The furniture and products within them should do the same — engaging, functional, a bit unexpected. Too much of what we see is generic and uninspired. We think it's worth doing better.
the way we work
The details matter to us. Materials, fabrication, how things go together and how long they last. Good design shouldn't need replacing in ten years. We push boundaries where we can — new materials, shapes that challenge, things that make you look twice.
We care about the places we design for and the people who use them. That means responsible materials, minimal waste, and keeping as much of our making local as possible. Public space should work for everyone — that's not negotiable.
who’s behind it
Strada is led by Damon Obst. Thirty years in design, fifteen as a practice director. Award-winning, inspired projects across Australia and internationally. Landscape architect, industrial designer, with a quiet conviction that good design in public spaces genuinely matters. His work is rooted in a deep connection to landscape, people and the places we share.
